The structure and dynamics of a modern unio

4.7.3
The progress of the modern concept compared with Hermetic
alchemy, quantum physics and depth psychology
With
the definition of the above energetic potentiality and the
potential transformation process we have, compared with
Hermetic alchemy as well as with quantum physics and depth
psychology, made some progress:
The
progress compared with Hermetic alchemy is first the
circumstance that the
metaphysical terms spirit, psyche and matter are replaced by
the bipolar energy term consisting in spirit-psyche and
matter-psyche, and a potential transformation of each aspect
into the other. Further, with the help of quantum physical
epistemology we can state that such a transformation, when
becoming actualized during the observational process, happens
in an acausal or indeterministic way.
The progress in relation to quantum physics is
the idea that the observation of such a single
indeterministic act could be possible, i.e. that we are able
to observe unique transformations of the potential state into
the actual one. I call the observation of such a spontaneous
event not influencable by the conscious will and thus not
observable by the physical experiment consciously fixed in
space and time, a singular psychophysical quantum leap, or in
a symbolical language: a unique radioactive decay out of the
psychophysical realm. Like this the original acausality of the
unique process replaced in modern physics by the statistical
causality of the mass’ decay, is re-established.
Further, in contrast to modern physics, we accept that the
energy term is bipolar.
When we compare the above hypothesises with
Carl Jung’s depth psychology, we see that the progress
related to its definition consists in the bipolarity of the
energy term, i.e. in the inclusion of the spirit-psyche as
well as of the matter-psyche, the latter not defined in the
depth psychologist’s concept. Further, as an effect of such
a bipolar definition of the energy term, the above acausal
double transformation process not possible in Carl Jung’s
energetically unipolar concept, becomes possible.
When we recall now Pauli’s idea that the observation of an energetic
change is an empirical proof of the existence of the
metaphysical realm, we see that it is exactly the exchange of
attributes, the above twin process, the acausal collapse of
the “psychophysical wave function” with the help of the
“psychophysical quantum leap”, the final goal of the unio corporalis, that fulfils this condition.
Thus, if we are able to
describe observable processes in which such a transformation
happens, we have at the same time succeeded in the
transformation of the central content of the metaphysical X
called matter, psyche, spirit or unus mundus, i.e., the
world soul or psychophysical reality, from a merely
metaphysical term without any empirical evidence into an
observable and thus empirical fact.
4.7.4
Consequences from the perspective of the psychology of
religion
A
strange consequence of such a development would be that what
physics calls radioactivity and treats as a completely
technological fact is really an unconscious projection of a
deeper truth into matter and psychologically would be based on
the background of the Hermetic alchemical unio corporalis, the sexual union of a god and
a goddess and thus on a religious content – Hiroshima, mon
amour!
The great advantage of such a development would be that an extension of the empirical methodology of
natural science and a deeply religios attitude would come
together.
Like
this a modern researcher of the intermediate realm would
consciously return to Hermetic alchemy and fulfil the request
of Wolfgang Pauli’s Fludd/flood synchronicity at the
foundation ceremony of the C.G. Jung Institute in the year
1948.
Such a mystical scientist would thus also accept the almost
incredible role of the alchemists as concluded by Carl Jung:
Becoming a redeemer of God – or better, of God and the
Goddess – and of the damaged nature by accepting man’s
cosmic responsibility.
The
looked-for procedure for such a redemption, the observation of
the indeterministic exchange of attributes, the creation and
incarnation principle of the world soul, could thus become the
background of a modern mysticism of a unified world religion
of the 21st century.
